Overview

Human Resource Management refers to the people and the tasks that assist a company or organization meet it’s objectives through providing suitable, trained and motivated employees.

Human Resource professionals play an integral role in the success of any business through developing and implementing policies relating to recruitment, employee conditions, training and development, remuneration and work practices.

Additionally Human Resource professionals may specialise in a variety of areas such as; diversity policies, talent management, industrial relations, health and safety issues and succession planning.

Human resources has moved from what was originally seen as an administrative function concerned primarily with recruitment and payroll to today playing a central role adding to an organizations’ strategic planning and competitive advantage. Senior management now recognizes the significance of the Human Resource department to their company’s financial success. Increasing globalization and a focus on information workers will ensure that attracting, supporting and retaining the right employees remains the key to future commercial success.
