How is the programme taught?

Each module is taught using a variety of learning and teaching methods which include:

  • lectures
  • group work
  • self-managed study
  • e-learning elements around the CIM Learning Zone web page
  • case-study activities associated with each module

BPP’s CIM tutors are experienced marketing practitioners with significant experience of teaching across the CIM syllabus.

BPP's CIM programme consists of three elements:

1. Taught programme

The taught programme covers all areas of the CIM syllabus, but focuses particularly on the most important, difficult and frequently-examined areas. Throughout the programme emphasis is also placed on exam or assignment writing technique.

Our experienced team of CIM tutors will equip you with the tips and techniques to place you in a strong position for passing your assessments.

BPP’s proven style of targeted professional training ensures that your time is used effectively, for realising your objective of passing the exams or assignments.

You will receive 24 hours of face-to-face taught tuition for each module you study.

This will cover:

  • main theories
  • practical examples
  • case studies.

2. Home study

For each module, BPP provides you with home-study guidance to ensure that you have time to reflect on your classroom learning and to broaden your understanding, as well as build up that all-important  technique for your assessment.

In the modules requiring exams, there are opportunities to practice and improve your exam technique. In addition to this, a mock exam (outlined below) allows you to practice your technique under exam conditions.

All exams are marked by your tutor who will provide you with feedback, ensuring you are able to provide the examiners with exactly what they are looking for in a good script.

3.  Assessment workshops

Each module you study includes an assessment workshop to prepare you for each examination or assignment you undertake.

Each workshop reinforces and enhances your understanding of key theories, and uncovers frequently-examined areas using past exam questions/assignment models, thus improving your overall technique.

Assessment workshops comprise of:

  • one day of face-to-face tuition per module
  • a review of key areas of the syllabus
  • intensive question and answers forums
  • exam/assignment technique practice
