How is the programme taught?
The programme is taught on a module by module basis and the CIM recommend that you study two modules per exam sitting (exams held in June and Decemeber). It is thus achievable to complete the full Diploma in one year studying part-time.
Each module is taught using a variety of learning and teaching methods are used which include:
- group work
- self managed study
- e-learning elements around the CIM Learning Zone webpage
- case study activities associated with each module
BPP Marketing Lecturers are experienced marketing practitioners with significant experience of teaching across the CIM syllabus.
BPP’s programmes consists of three elements:
1. Taught programme
The taught programme focuses on the most important, difficult and frequently examined areas of the syllabus.
BPP’s proven style of targeted professional training ensures that your time is utilised effectively towards realising your objective of passing the exams and achieving marketer status.
You will receive four days face to face tuition for each module you study. This will cover:
- main theories
- practical examples
- case studies
2. Home study
For each module BPP provides you with home study guidance to ensure that you have time to reflect on your classroom learning and to broaden your understanding, as well as build up that all important exam technique.
Two exams completed throughout each module to provide you with the opportunity to practice and improve your exam technique. In addition to this a mock exam (outlined below) allows you to practise your technique under exam conditions.
All exams are marked by your tutor who will provide you with feedback on your attempt ensuring you are able to provide the examiners with exactly what they are looking for in a good script.
3. Revision session
Each module you study comprises a revision session to reinforce and enhance your understanding of the key theories and frequently examined topics using past exam questions whilst improving your exam technique.
Revision sessions comprise:
- one day of face to face tuition
- review of key areas of the syllabus
- intensive question and exam techniques practice
- A mock exam is provided (as mentioned above) that will be marked and feedback provided on your technique.
