MSc Accounting & Finance*

BPP's MSc Accounting is open to graduates in any discipline with a numerical content who wish to pursue a career within the accounting profession.

BPP Business School has also structured the programme so that on successful completion, you will become eligible for exemptions from the examinations of the professional bodies such as ACCA (subject to approval by the professional bodies). BPP's MSc Accounting will therefore provide you with a fast track option towards obtaining those professional qualification. After completing the MSc those intended to practise as professional accountants complete the remaining papers on the professional examinations.

The programme has been designed to achieve the following objectives:

  • preparing you for employment in the field of accounting
  • meeting the needs of the professional bodies governing the field of accounting
  • meeting the demands of employers by enabling you to develop the key skills required by professional accountants
  • enabling you to develop your capability to learn and enhance your opportunities for life-long learning.


Key skills and knowledge

On our distinctive MSc Accounting and Finance you will gain the essential skills and knowledge required for success on the programme, and subsequently within accounting practice including:

  • detailed understanding of the function of accounting and how it contributes to the effective management of organisations
  • analytical and critical thinking skills to solve practical business problems
  • ability to make an immediate contribution to strategic management decision making
  • heightened awareness of how accounting and other departments work together in a multi-disciplinary business environment
